KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) — The Franchise International Malaysia (FIM) 2016 is set to become the largest franchise exhibition ever held in Southeast Asia with 70 franchise industry players, from seven countries, participating in the three-day event, beginning tomorrow.
The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) Secretary-General Mohamad Shukri Salleh said besides local players, interest was also forthcoming from the United States, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and Taiwan.
“Among the global brands that will be showcased at FIM 2016 are Gloria Jean’s Coffees and Anytime Fitness while home-grown brands will include Marrybrown and Adan Laundry,” he told a press conference here today.
The annual event is organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism.
Mohamad Shukri also said this year, MFA aimed to intensify promotions for local brands.
Themed, ‘Leap Beyond the Limits’, FIM 2016 is expected to generate RM370 million in transactions and attract 12,000 visitors.
“Last year, we recorded RM379 million in sales,” he added.
